ACTS: Associated Congregations Together Serving
A Christ Centered Approach to Helping and Healing Communities
One of the greatest contentions in the early church, as well as the church today, was the level of involvement of the church in the community. Should the church be concerned with the physical or material nature of society or only spiritual aspects. When we consider the historic and present ministry of Christ, it was, and is, both concerned with our spiritual as well as our physical well-being. Christianity is the most materialistic faith in the world. We concern ourselves first with the spiritual as well and then physical well-being of our neighbor. Christ gave us an example of how to feed the hungry, heal the sick, visit the imprisoned and to share the gospel with any and every one. These are the greater works that WE do. The resurrection of Jesus Christ was both bodily and spirit; material an immaterial. This is why the church must engage the community in a greater way. The Greater Works Networks is inviting you to become a part of ACTS of Georgia. A group of Associated Congregations Together Serving here in the Metro Atlanta Area. Our mission is to promote a God-centered approach to the ills of our community in collaboration with other associated congregations in Stonecrest and around the country.
Our collaborative effort will go to support the overall mission of the Greater Works Networks; Empowering Individuals, Strengthening Families, and Connecting Communities in our cities, states, and nation.
Every community is different and has unique needs that must be addressed to establish a foundation for community, family, and individual growth. The Greater Works Networks Programs have interconnections that extend through out the community and to individual families. Through the Greater Works Networks, local churches, local business, and local families work together creating a community culture of support and success.

“…And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” Genesis 12:3
The greatest calamity in our society is the degradation of the family. With the family in chaos, our next generation will be lost unless we strengthen the family! The National Longitudinal Adolescent Health Study confirms that parents are the major reason kids do not use drugs. This is because parents are the primary role models and teachers for their children. Since strong effective families influence many societal outcomes, the cornerstone of community development is the family.
The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is a evidence-based parenting program initially designed for families with substance abusing parents and their kids. However, strong families are now widely understood to reduce the risk for many adverse behaviors in children. As a result of its effectiveness to foster better communication, increase understanding, and provide support for high-stress families, we are coordinating with churches and community organizations through ACTS to facilitate and implement this program with every willing family.

YES! Youth Empowerment Solutions
Too many of our children have been told NO! As in No Child Left Behind, but unfortunately those measures were not meeting the needs of the children in our community. Now It’s time to say YES! Yes to Youth Empowerment Solutions.
YES! Programs encourage coordinated community engagement through local businesses and churches to establish and reinforce community norms that demand a culture of accountability and set high achievement standards in technology, arts, and academics.
